The gardeHouse Project
Spring 2026
Lafayette College
In this installation I use the gardeHouse as an observation tank for quiet habits and a personal space where functions bleed into one another – art making, cooking, living.
This is a space for play and experimentation: a studio feel. Supplies and tools are intertwined with living things, creating an environment that feels alive even as it exists trapped in a glass box. Images made fuzzy by the texture of felt repeat and re-emerge, reminiscent of a space always in motion. This emphasizes the feeling of festering in an environment when there is no room for separation, so multiple things coexist in the same space to create one unique habitat.
In a cluttered space it is hard to decipher what is taking precedence in your life. The overwhelming presence of unfinished projects and accumulated nothings takes an unseen toll.
